Who we are
Pantry Literacy is a practical support program designed to address what happens after food distribution.
While food access programs do critical work ensuring households receive food, many families and caregivers are left to navigate planning, use, and decision-making on their own once that food comes home.
Pantry Literacy exists to support that moment.
We work alongside community organizations to help households understand what they have, how to use it, and how to make informed, realistic decisions that reduce waste, stress, and overwhelm.
Our approach is skills-based, not instructional, and focuses on building confidence through guided practice rather than telling people what they “should” do.
Pantry Literacy was developed by Christina Ezeagwuna, a Nutrition Therapy Practitioner and Curriculum Developer.
The program is led and facilitated with care, consistency, and respect for the realities households face.
It is also designed to be adaptable, repeatable, and easy to integrate into existing community services.
